Like an Oasis in the Night

Breez: Hello. My name is Fabrizio aka Breez. I was born in 1994 in the countryside of Turin, which is up in the north of Italy. For as long as I can remember, music has always fascinated me.
My first approaches were with instruments such as electric bass and guitar. After adolescence and the discovery of clubbing, my interest shifted to electronic music. I became very fond of everything around reggae and soundystem culture. And I think my roots are here. In fact, even though a lot of my productions are very dark and maybe may seem far removed from those sounds, I actually try to always include some element that harkens back to that specific type of sound/culture/idea/feeling. Having said that, I take great delight in varying in the style of my productions.

Konst: Photography has always been something of an escape for me. A place I can form my own reality and somewhere the normal rules don’t apply. I could create my own worlds and my own stories in the pictures I’d take. I’ve been shooting forever it seems, and photography has always been there as an outlet. One I hope to use for a long time to come.

Favourite place you like to visit and photograph?

Konst: My favorite place to photograph would be any small town or stopover between larger cities. I enjoy the idea of transience and that we are all stopping by these small moments and memories before moving on, perhaps never to return again.

Breez: The tracks on this EP were brought together at a later date.
I was trying to create beats designed to have a Mc on them (collaborations that recently i am trying to increase). I am referring especially to “Cold1” & “Run de Ting.” Then there was “Sub Procedure.” It was envisioned as a purpose-built track for a Soundsystem. Dark sounds and deep bass. Once the tracks were brought together, it quickly became apparent how different elements actually all led toward the same journey. Wide spaces, little light, fog…. And indeed this was greatly facilitated by Konst’s photographic representation, for which I am very happy and grateful.

Konst: Like an oasis in the night, this series came out of nowhere but felt right in the moment. The mystery and excitement of the unknown was the fuel. Thinking back to it now, it feels like some sort of dream.
