Strength and Resilience
Emerging from Eastern Canada’s port cities and backwoods, independent music producer lewcid is known for flexing the bins with his avant-garde, forward-thinking music productions. The mind of producer and multi-passionate creative Jordan Lewis, explores the boundaries between sound and emotion filling the spectrum with immersive low-end and atmospheres, powerful rhythms and intricate sound designs that will undeniably invoke a deeper cerebral response.
Kieran McPeake: Bad political decisions, along with environmental changes has significantly impacted the UK fishing industry. These challenges have led to dwindling fleets, struggling coastal communities, and a vanishing way of life. These images invite the viewer to reflect on the fragility of traditions and the impact of modern policies and global forces on local identities.
lewcid: In writing Do or Die my objective was to capture the sound of strength and resilience. Each track was made either at a time or place that has meaning to me and my journey through life. As a through line, I stuck to a low bpm deep dub-influenced sound and kept full intensity experimenting with my analog gear and digital savvy. I hope this EP serves as a source of inspiration, encouraging listeners to embrace their own journeys with courage and determination.
Do you like following a routine to summon inspiration or do you rely on the heat of the moment?
Kieran McPeake: My usual landscape photography is always spontaneous, relying upon light and weather conditions. The series of images for this project was planned as I knew what subject needed to be shown and that the final images would be manipulated.
